The history of literature is riddled with moments when the written word was silenced, restricted, or suppressed. Whether it was for religious, political, or moral reasons, book bans have been used as a tool to control information and ideas throughout the ages.
Mirror in the Dark explores how flexibility is often used as a tool of resilience as the ebb and flow of life’s challenges are navigated through. The exhibition also examines previous responses to unexpected circumstances and crises.
This is the seventh year Waterloo Arts has held a nationwide juried exhibition. Over $1,500 in cash prizes will be awarded. As in past years, Waterloo Arts will also offer a small stipend to all accepted artists to help defray costs associated with entry and shipping.
